Fiesta forecast: Cold front to hit South Texas this weekend, storms are possible

It’s that time of the year again — time of parades, live music, carnival rides and, of course, chicken-on-a-stick. Fiesta, San Antonio’s annual 11-day celebration of Texas’ independence from Mexico, officially kicks off Thursday.

However, as is often the case, many Fiesta events are at the mercy of Mother Nature. The festival takes place in late April, just as South Texas is nearing the peak of the spring thunderstorm season.

This year will be no exception. Before heading out to Fiesta De Los Reyes, Oyster Bake or Taste of New Orleans this weekend, it’s worth keeping an eye on the forecast.
