Painted Tree Boutiques, a rapidly growing chain with an ethereal, often cottage-core, aesthetic known for hosting dozens of small local vendors at each location suddenly announced the shuttering of its sole San Antonio spot – a location that revived the ousted Sears at the Park North Shopping center back in 2022. Though, the reason for its shuttering remains a mystery.
“Unfortunately, all Painted Tree locations are now closed. We just received this news at 11:00 AM Central Time and had no prior notice that his was going to happen,” a local Instagram page for the brand wrote in a caption. “This will deeply impact many small businesses in San Antonio that relied on this income.”
The parent company, Painted Tree, sent an email to all its vendors across more than 60 stores, including the San Antonio location that boasted “hundreds of shops under one roof.” In the email obtained by MySA, the company confirmed it will no longer be conducting sales across any of its locations, spanning nearly two dozen states.
