South Texas to warm back to 90 degrees soon, but here’s when temps will fall again

The first few days of May have delivered well below-average temperatures to South Texas, courtesy of a strong cold front that moved through the region Friday.

But now, as atmospheric high pressure strengthens over the next few days, a significant warm-up is expected across the San Antonio area. The hotter weather won’t last long, though, as yet another cold front is expected by the second half of the week. Temperatures will drop, and San Antonio will encounter rising rain chances, especially by the weekend.

Monday forecast

A cool and pleasant morning is expected across the region Monday morning, as low temperatures hover in the upper 50s and low 60s through 8 a.m. The Hill Country will be slightly cooler, with low temps in the mid 50s from Kerrville to Fredericksburg.

Temperatures will rise steadily throughout the day. San Antonio will likely be in the mid to upper 70s at noon before highs top out in the mid-80s by 4 to 5 p.m. Skies will turn more cloudy than it was over the weekend, but no rain is expected across South or Central Texas.

Comfortable conditions are likely for the evening, with San Antonio temperatures falling back into the 70s after sunset. Winds will be slightly breezy, moving in from the south at 10-15 mph.

Temperatures rise higher

Tuesday will start off warm and humid, with morning low temperatures in the low to mid 70s in San Antonio. As the day goes on, partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected, and temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees…
