City Council members say it’s time to audit San Antonio police overtime

Half of the City Council wants the city to do a deep dive into police overtime expenses as the council mulls a hiring plan for the department.

District 4 Councilman Edward Mungia spearheaded the request for an audit of San Antonio Police Department overtime, which he and four others laid out in an April 13 letter to City Auditor Buddy Vargas.
