SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle pursuit early Thursday morning resulted in a single-vehicle collision and the arrest of one individual in San Diego, according to law enforcement officials.
At approximately 12:37 a.m., a patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle near the intersection of 1st Street and Alameda Boulevard. The driver failed to yield, initiating a brief vehicle pursuit. The officer discontinued active pacing of the vehicle after the suspect accelerated to high speeds.
Shortly thereafter, the fleeing vehicle struck the center median and traffic signal poles at the intersection of 1st Street and Orange Avenue. The responding officer arrived at the crash site and witnessed the driver fleeing the area on foot.
