Federal authorities say 30 people have been charged, 28 arrested for operating an open-air drug market.
More than 350 law enforcement officers, including SWAT, conducted nearly two dozen raids across southeastern San Diego Wednesday morning. They say those arrested are alleged West Coast Crips gang members and associates.
The open-air market was located on imperial Avenue in Logan Heights and Grant Hill. Investigators say the network involved wholesale dealers selling about 20 pounds of cocaine each in the week leading to the bust.
