SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire in the Sorrento Valley area, with the flames spreading through medium brush, officials with San Diego Fire-Rescue said Sunday afternoon.
San Diego Fire-Rescue said a call came in around 1:30 p.m. regarding a fire in the Peñasquitos Creek area between Sorrento Valley Boulevard and Carmel Mountain Road.
At about 2:50 p.m., the fire had grown to an estimated 5 to 10 acres with continuous spread through medium brush, officials said. By about 3:44 p.m., Cal Fire reported that the fire had spread to 71 acres…
