Sweetwater Valley World Series game rain-delayed: See when they play next

SAN DIEGO (KUSI/ FOX 5) — San Diego County will have to wait a little longer to watch Bonita’s Sweetwater Valley 12-Under team compete in the Little League Baseball World Series after inclement weather in Williamsport Thursday forced the highly anticipated game to be delayed.

The All-Stars matchup against Midwest Region winner Davenport, Iowa, was originally slated for Thursday at 3 p.m., but a rain delay moved all eight games to Friday, Aug. 21.

The Baseball Little League World Series issued a statement regarding the delay on its website: “Due to the impact of prolonged inclement weather in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, after consultation with our grounds crew and to provide the best playing experience for all teams both tomorrow and through the duration of the tournament, all games scheduled for Thursday, August 20, have been postponed.”
