LA JOLLA, Calif. — The super El Nino is on its way, and according to the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, there is a 90 percent chance of a very strong event hitting the northern hemisphere this fall and winter.
Now, the cities of San Diego, Oceanside, Encinitas, and really all coastal cities are forming working groups to address what could be a dangerous, powerful erosive storm. Mayor John McCann from Chula Vista says his administration is rolling up their sleeves for the potential warm, wet winter headed our way.
“Our city manager is making sure our storm drains are clear, that our infrastructure is up to date, and when the rains do come, we will be able to handle any emergencies if they come at that time,” said Mayor McCann…
