SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 50-year-old man died Saturday while in custody at San Diego Central Jail, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release the following day.
Officials said a deputy at the jail was conducting a security check when they found an inmate who was unconscious inside his cell. Medical staff were called and immediately began life-saving measures, the sheriff’s office said.
When paramedics and the San Diego Fire Department arrived, they also continued resuscitation efforts, but the man was pronounced dead at approximately 7:33 p.m. His identity will not be released until his family is notified of the death, deputies said…
