San Diego Police issued more speeding tickets on Friars Road last year than any other street in the city.
That’s not altogether new: Friars Road has led all thoroughfares for speeding-related citations every year since 2018. But SDPD officers have issued more speeding tickets on the road in 2025 than in any of the past eight years.
Data obtained and analyzed by Times of San Diego shows SDPD wrote 668 tickets along Friars Road last year. That accounted for only a slight increase over 2024, when police issued 634 speeding citations, but it was more than double the number of speeding tickets police wrote on Friars in 2023…
