A police chief at the center of an NBC 7 investigation appears to have had some of his police powers suspended.
In September 2025, Christopher Palomares – then a corporal with the San Pasqual Tribal Police Department – put his gun to the neck of a handcuffed 15-year-old and threatened to kill him. Months later, he became the department’s chief.
