RV catches fire on southbound I-15 near Bonsall, blocking lanes

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — An RV caught fire on southbound Interstate near Bonsall Friday morning, prompting a temporary closure of all southbound traffic, according to a Sig Alert from California Highway Patrol.

The fire was first reported around 8:45 a.m. on the right-hand shoulder of southbound I-15 near Old Highway 395.

CHP logs noted that one person was reported to be out of the burning vehicle.

Shortly before 9 a.m., CHP officers stopped all traffic, including the on-ramp, while firefighters made their way to the scene. Cal Fire crews were requested and arrived a short time later.
