Mission Valley elementary school placed on lockdown after report of injured man nearby

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Nipaquay Elementary School in East Mission Valley was placed on lockdown early Wednesday morning after a woman reported that her boyfriend may have been suffering from a gunshot wound near the school.

Around 6:47 a.m., San Diego police received a report that there was a man on the ground near the intersection of Altana Way and Via Alta who was bleeding. The person who called the police is the man’s girlfriend and said that he may have been bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Nipaquay Elementary School, which is directly across the street from where the incident happened, was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution…
