WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — New details have emerged in court as a Winston-Salem teenager faces multiple counts of murder for allegedly participating in the livestream of a terrorist attack.
District Attorney Jim O’Neill announced on Aug. 31 that Sarah Lindsey Santiago, 17, of Winston-Salem, was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

She was identified as one of three people watching the livestream of a mass shooting that took place on May 18, 2026, at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Three people were killed in the shooting.
O’Neill says that she published the livestream and disseminated the manifesto of the two shooters, who killed themselves after opening fire at the mosque.
