SDPD operation in College Area results in 40 felony arrests

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Police Department made multiple arrests during a nearly month-long operation in the College Area to coincide with the beginning of the new school year.

SDPD worked with San Diego State University Police on an enhanced public safety operation during the evening and overnight hours between Aug. 19 through Sept. 12.

During this time, officers made 40 felony arrests and nine misdemeanor arrests. They also recovered four firearms and addressed nearly 150 calls for service, according to SDPD.

Four people were also charged with driving under the influence.
