SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office sent an update Wednesday regarding the manhunt for sexually violent predator Merle Wakefield.
The sheriff’s office said it does not have any credible reason to believe that Wakefield is driving a 2018 white Toyota Camry, despite some reports in local media. Deputies did not clarify what type of car Wakefield may be driving since he went missing on Friday, Sept. 25.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 25, Liberty Healthcare receieved an alert that the GPS ankle monitoring bracelet Wakefield was wearing had been tampered with while working at an Amazon warehouse in Rancho Bernardo, according to the sheriff’s office…
