‘Ghost’ guns and rocket-propelled grenades were found inside Neal Anders’ San Diego home after his son allegedly threatened a school shooting, police said
A neighbor of a California man and his son were “shocked” when police said the family stored a collection of deadly weapons , including a rocket launcher , at their home on a quiet street.
In a statement to The Messenger, the San Diego Police Department confirmed that 45-year-old Neal Anders was arrested this week following the alleged discovery of unregistered “ghost” guns and rocket-propelled grenades inside his home.
The residence was searched after Anders’ teen son was accused of making a threat against Rancho Bernardo High School, where he is a student.
Police said the boy was overheard talking about his plans to carry out a school shooting there on Tuesday. The students who heard the alleged threat went to school officials, who contacted police.
The teen was taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall, police said.
