SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — More heavy rain is expected in the region starting Thursday, on the heels of a winter storm that caused major flooding in parts of the county last week.
As many are still recovering from major weather event, officials with the County of San Diego are asking the public to take precautions and remain safe.
According to the National Weather Service , light rain is expected to begin between 6-9 a.m. Thursday morning. Heavier precipitation is anticipated in the hours following.

The county has advised those you can work from home to do so, stating in a news release, “If you don’t have to drive, stay off the streets and out of areas that could flood.”
San Diegans are also encouraged to stay informed by monitoring weather updates. Locals can register their cells phones to receive emergency alerts from the county.
“If you live in a flood prone area, take necessary precautions. Protect your family and property, have a plan and a go kit so you are ready,” said County Emergency Services Director Jeff Toney.
