SAN DIEGO — Another significant winter storm is forecast to slam into San Diego on Thursday, leading to a downpour that could contribute to even more urban flooding across the county.
The National Weather Service says neighborhoods west of the mountains could see anywhere from around one to three inches of rainfall with this storm system between Thursday and Friday . Additional showers are anticipated to continue into the weekend.
A flood watch will be in effect across the county from 1 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with the heaviest rainfall anticipated to occur mid-day Thursday. An evacuation warning was also issued for neighborhoods that saw flash flooding last week by the city of San Diego.
Potentially heavy rains expected: County urges residents to take these precautions
The latest storm comes as people across the county, especially those in southeastern San Diego, are still working to recover from devastating flash floods last week, brought on by a deluge that overwhelmed local stormwater systems.
