SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – In a landmark case, a federal jury has convicted the owners of Salt Lake Trucking Group (SLTG), a prominent local trucking conglomerate, of orchestrating a financial fraud that siphoned $108 million from FedEx Ground over a decade. Yevgeny Felix Tuchinsky, 63, and Konstantin Mikhaylovich Tomilin, 54, were found guilty of wire fraud conspiracy, involving the payment of approximately $320,000 in bribes to FedEx Ground employees to secure unearned business.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Tuchinsky and Tomilin, residents of Salt Lake County, Utah, with Tuchinsky also residing in San Diego, California, and Tomilin in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, exploited their position as FedEx Ground contract service providers (CSPs) to unjustly enrich themselves by undermining fair competition. FedEx Ground relies on CSPs like SLTG to transport packages using semitrucks, compensating them on a per-mile basis.
