Adorable Elephant Has the Time of His Life During San Diego Rainstorm

It’s been a tough week for Southern California, as rainstorm after rainstorm relentlessly hit the region hard. For lots of SoCal residents, at least those of the human variety, this foul weather was bad news, resulting in flash floods, toppled trees, mudslides, and other life-threatening weather conditions.

But there was at least one San Diegoan who was more than happy to celebrate the unseasonably wet weather despite the danger. At the San Diego Zoo on Tuesday, one of their African elephants was seen having the time of his life, dancing up a storm in the middle of an actual storm! Turn the sound up for this one- this happy elephant made some noise!

Despite the intense and, at times, scary rainfall pouring down over San Diego , Nipho was able to find a silver lining in the storm and make a day of it. His playful, carefree joy was truly infectious. In the San Diego Zoo’s original Instagram upload , they advised, “Take a page out of Nipho’s book. Pach away the umbrealls and go play in the rain.” Wise words if ever I’ve heard ’em.
