Two men found themselves perched precariously in a tree surrounded by the waters of Jamul Creek Saturday, entangled in a situation that necessitated a coordinated rescue effort involving multiple agencies. The Chula Vista Fire Department reported the incident occurred around 5 p.m. near 13531 Otay Lakes Road, a stone’s throw from Skydive San Diego. The men were stranded “approximately 300 yards away from shore.” According to an X post from the department, the trapped duo were discovered by crews at 6 p.m. following what must have been hours of uncertainty.
