Bicyclist, Believed to be in His 70s, Struck by Trolley Near Downtown Convention Center

A trolley struck a bicyclist near the San Diego Convention Center Monday, leaving him suffering from injuries to his head and legs, authorities reported.

The collision took place at First Avenue and Harbor Drive shortly after 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Paramedics took the victim, believed to be in his 70s, to a hospital for treatment of injuries of undisclosed severity.

The accident caused delays on the San Diego Trolley Green Line into the early afternoon, according to the Metropolitan Transit System.
