SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A body was discovered on the embankment of the Tijuana River Valley Tuesday morning, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed to FOX 5.
According to CBP, border patrol agents were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a possible decedent on the embankment of the river channel, west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner and local authorities were called to the scene to investigate. At this time, it is unknown how and when the person died.
No additional details were immediately available.

This comes about a week after the body of a migrant was found floating in the Tijuana River Channel following the first bout of heavy rainfall from a strong and slow-moving atmospheric river that pushed through the region.
