Man stabbed in Golden Hall homeless shelter; no arrests made

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was stabbed early Wednesday morning while sleeping inside a downtown homeless shelter, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the 32-year-old victim was sleeping in a bottom bunk at the Golden Hall shelter in downtown San Diego when witnesses saw a 33-year-old male suspect jump on top of him and stab him with a knife.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

SDPD said the suspect left before police arrived. He was last seen walking southbound on 1100 1st Ave. No one is in custody at this time. The SDPD Neighborhood Policing Division is handling the investigation.
