SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI) — As seems to be the winter trend, another atmospheric river is expected to hose rain across Southern California in the coming days.
According to the National Weather Service, San Diego County should see dry and fair weather Friday and through the weekend before conditions take a slightly damp turn.
But first, Friday most likely will be the warmest of the next several days, with meteorologist predicting highs in the mid 70s in desert areas like Borrego Springs and Ocotillo Wells. Coastal areas will see temperatures in the mid 60s and the inland areas show high 60s for Friday.

From there, NWS explained in Thursday’s area forecast discussion that an “impressive” jet stream appears to be stretching across the Pacific Ocean and is expected to strengthen over the next few days at it reaches California.
The Southwest flow is expected to increase into SoCal, tapping the subtropics and forming an atmospheric river, said NWS. This means precipitation chances are on the forecast come the start of next week.
