SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two local organizations teamed up to provide warmth to unhoused people and pets.
Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Pets Without Walls program and the Lucky Duck Foundation hosted their Cozy Critter visit on Thursday at Father Joe’s Villages Neil Good Day Center in San Diego.

Staff and volunteers with the Pets Without Walls program distributed cold-weather supplies specifically aimed at keeping the furry friends of homeless individuals safe from the elements. Supplies included pet sweaters, blankets, leashes and hygiene products.
In addition, the Lucky Duck Foundation provided sleeping bags, coats, food and water to unhoused individuals.
The Pets Without Walls program started seven years ago and is dedicated to making weekly visits to homeless shelters where staff provide health checks, microchipping, preventative care and more to pets of unhoused individuals.
