Walmart Closes Up Shop: Three More California Stores Close

Walmart Continues California Closures with 3 More Stores Shutting Down

Walmart continues to close stores in California, with the retail giant announcing three more store closures this month alone.

The latest round of closures includes a Neighborhood Market in San Diego that permanently shuttered on February 9th. The store, located at 2121 Imperial Ave., had been open for less than a decade.

We are grateful to the customers who have given us the privilege of serving them at our San Diego store. We look forward to continuing to serve them at any of our many locations across the area.” Walmart spokesperson Brian Little

Days later, Walmart bid farewell to another location – this time a supercenter in El Cajon. Community members expressed disappointment over the closure of the busy Fletcher Parkway store while raising concerns over the growing issue of food deserts.

The third California closure announced was a Walmart store in West Covina, southeast of Los Angeles. The store, positioned in the Eastland Center shopping plaza, will officially close on March 29th after serving the area for years.
