Liberty Station Heats Up in July with Music, Murals, Pop-Up Market

Liberty Station’s Arts District will host a diverse array of activities for July, including a pop-up market at the North Promenade and a nod to the World Design Capital.

The major design event, with the first binational designation of San Diego and Tijuana, will be honored all summer as part of Liberty Station‘s Summer Music Series.

Here’s some of what Liberty Station is offering up beginning this week:

Friday – First Friday at Arts District includes the grand opening of Faces by Miche and the Emerging Artist Solo Show by Leslye Villaseñor, who will present her collection of paintings based on hidden objects found throughout Otay Valley Regional Park, and open studio night at F1VEart Studio & Gallery.

July 8 – One of several Liberty Station summer camps, San Diego Dance Theater’s annual Summer Workshop, runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 19.

July 13 – a community painting day with artist Paola Villaseñor aka PANCA, as she completes her “Installations at the Station” piece. At 1 p.m, visitors will have the chance to add their own touch to a mural that will be a lasting part of the Arts District. Painters of all experience levels are welcome.
