Juvenile shot multiple times while sitting in vehicle

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A male juvenile was shot multiple times while sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle in Bay Terraces Friday, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the violent incident occurred just before 9 p.m. in a parking lot at 400 Deep Dell Rd.

Police said some sort of altercation went down between the victim, whose age was not released, and a group of unknown suspects. That’s when several shots rang out, with the victim being struck several times in his upper torso.

At that point, police said the victim tried to drive away from the scene and ended up hitting multiple parked vehicles. Once authorities responded, the juvenile was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He’s expected to survive.

The department’s Street Gang Unit is handling the investigation. No suspect information is available at this time.
