Volunteers conduct count of unhoused people in San Diego River encampments

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Over the last few months, attention on encampments along the San Diego River has grown as elected officials continue to grapple with the county’s homelessness crisis.

Experts say a critical first step to addressing these camp sites is to understand exactly how many people are living in them.
