Fox Sports host has hilarious blooper

Colin Cowherd is one of the most successful personalities in sports media thanks to his lengthy radio career and now his booming podcast business with The Volume. But he’s also not one to sweat the details.

Last year Cowherd and Fox Sports co-host Jason McIntyre went viral for their discussion around the Angels trading Shohei Ohtani for a haul of draft picks and then hilariously finding out live on the air that it wasn’t even allowed due to MLB rules.

A few weeks ago he made up an NFL result, thinking that the Tennessee Titans defeated the Chicago Bears in Week 1 when in fact the opposite happened .

Now it’s a World Series comprised of two teams from the National League.

While discussing the MLB postseason on Wednesday’s episode of The Herd , Cowherd excitedly talked about a matchup between the New York Mets and San Diego Padres as a “juicy” potential World Series. Of course, both teams play in the National League, making a World Series matchup impossible.

Let’s give Colin Cowherd the benefit of the doubt that it was a simple slip of the tongue and he meant that it would be a juicy NLCS matchup. With the Mets defeat of the Phillies and the Dodgers and Padres going to a deciding Game 5 in the NLDS, it’s of course a possibility they could still meet in the postseason, just not in the final round. Given the market size, star power, and presence of Shohei Ohtani though, Cowherd’s bosses at Fox would probably rather see the Mets take on the Dodgers instead.
