As Halloween approaches, Historic Hotels of America has named three California hotels among the most haunted in the country for 2024, blending luxury with spine-tingling paranormal activity.
The Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley, known for its stunning views and 4-star amenities, is also infamous for eerie occurrences. Guests have reported ghostly phenomena, including phantom elevators and chilling temperature drops, especially on the fourth floor. A peaceful ghost of a young girl is rumored to greet guests at night with a soft “Hello.”
In Wine Country, the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is another opulent location where visitors have experienced strange events, from doors slamming to shadowy figures. The hotel’s Round Room is said to be the epicenter of paranormal activity, with flickering lights and eerie noises disturbing guests.
Down in San Diego, Hotel del Coronado rounds out the list, adding its own unsettling stories of supernatural encounters to the state’s haunted hotel scene.
