California’s latest Daiso store set to open right before Thanksgiving in Southern California suburb

San Marcos is buzzing as Daiso, the popular Japanese-inspired retail chain, opens its newest location at Grand Plaza on November 23. The 6,412-square-foot store is packed with unique and affordable finds across categories like home decor, stationery, and food, all reflecting Daiso’s quirky and budget-friendly charm.

“We’re excited to bring our unique shopping experience to Grand Plaza,” shared Jack Williams, Daiso USA’s Chief Retail Operations Officer. “This store celebrates our customers who have made Daiso a staple with their support and enthusiasm.”

Daiso’s expansion into San Marcos comes as part of a broader California growth strategy influenced by customer demand, according to Chief Development Officer John Clarke. Currently operating 166 stores across eight states, Daiso plans to expand further in 2025.
