Rain, Snow, and Winds Expected in Southern California’s Weather Forecast into Saturday Morning

Southern California’s weather is set for a shift in the coming days, with temperatures cooling down and precipitation rolling in. Currently basking in warm, dry conditions, the region will see a dramatic turn as a low-pressure trough brings rain showers and light mountain snow beginning Thursday night and continuing through Saturday morning.

Residents in San Diego, Riverside, and Orange Counties can expect cooler temperatures on Thursday, with rain most likely Friday morning, especially along the coastal mountain slopes. While showers are expected to be scattered, coastal mountains below 4,500 feet may receive up to half an inch of rain. Higher elevations, such as Mt. Laguna, Big Bear, and Running Springs, may see up to an inch of snow, with flurries possible around 4,000 feet.

The wet weather will ease by Sunday, giving way to drier and warmer conditions early next week. However, the region is likely to see Santa Ana winds pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly creating gusty conditions as high pressure returns.
