SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Tayishe Baltys, a 46-year-old who is accused of fatally hitting a man and his teenage stepdaughter while driving under the influence, took the stand in her own defense Wednesday.

“I know I’ll never drink alcohol again. I just want to say that I’m so sorry to the other family, I am so so sorry,” Baltys said on the witness stand.

She’s accused of driving under the influence, hitting and killing 39-year-old Brian McKee and his stepdaughter 15-year-old Jessica Talamante as they were walking back home from a convenience store in National City in June of 2022.
