SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Over the weekend, social media feeds were flooded with videos of frustrated travelers over the weekend as thick fog caused delays at the San Diego International Airport.
On Monday, conditions seemed to be improving. The airport expects more than 80,000 travelers this week.
“In San Diego, obviously we’re blessed with good weather, but the fog doesn’t cooperate sometimes and that really caused a lot of the delays,” said San Diego Airport Authority public information officer, Fernando Alcala.
Alcala says they don’t expect any more issues through mid-week.

“The flight was actually really easy, no problems,” said Elena Grossman, who is visiting from Chicago.
The mood is shifting, with Santa visiting Transportation and Security Administration workers to spread Christmas cheer.
“It gives them a moment of levity, they’re like you know what? It’s that time of year. And to see me walking around in my Santa suit, it just feels great,” said Robert Mack, a TSA Santa.
