‘Cloned’ delivery van stopped with 9 unlawful migrants in rural area of San Diego

SAN DIEGO ( Border Report ) — Agents assigned to the Campo station seized a “cloned” delivery service van earlier this month that was found to be carrying nine undocumented migrants, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.

The vehicle was stopped along Tierra Del Sol Road near Highway 94 on Dec. 17.

A Border Patrol news release says the “logos and window coverings on the vehicle were inconsistent with those typically seen on an authentic delivery vans.”

After stopping the vehicle, agents reportedly noticed nine people lying on the floor and seats in the rear of the van.

Border Patrol says that while interviewing the individuals, it was determined they did not possess the proper documents to be legally present in the United States.

The driver and the nine passengers were placed under arrest and transported to a nearby Border Patrol station for further processing.

The driver is being held pending federal prosecution.
