A woman is in critical condition Tuesday after being struck by a truck tractor on state Route 76, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The 47-year-old pedestrian from San Diego was walking on the fog line of SR-76 near Canyon Drive at 7:11 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a 2013 Freightliner truck tractor traveling eastbound, a OPD statement said.
She was flown to Scripps Hospital, where she underwent surgery and was in critical condition Tuesday morning, the statement said.
The driver of the truck tractor was a 30-year-old man from Lynwood, the OPD statement said. He remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The OPD’s major accident investigation team conducted an investigation of the collision and anyone with information was asked to call OPD Officer Jose Gomez at (760) 435-4952.
