SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Daylight Savings Time begins early Sunday morning, meaning it’s time to restart the debate that may feel as old as time itself: should we ditch the switch in California?
Almost every state operates under the Uniform Time Act of 1966, which established the parameters for when to move clocks. Hawaii and Arizona are the only states operating on standard time year-round. However, California may soon join them, as California State Sen. Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks) has restarted his push to abolish changing the clocks.
“Just about everybody wants to ditch the switch; it’s just about which switch to ditch,” Niello said. “…We’re about to change the clocks very soon, and a week after that, everyone is going to be tired, grumpy, not feel well.”…
