San Diego icon Leon Williams passes away at 102

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A trailblazing public servant who dedicated his decades-long career to shaping San Diego into what is now known as “America’s Finest City” has died.

Leon Williams was the first Black person elected to both the San Diego City Council and the County Board of Supervisors.

He died Saturday at the age of 102 from cardiac arrest, surrounded by his loved ones…
