Multiple cars submerged, people rescued from flooded intersections throughout San Diego

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Fire Department responded to multiple calls of water rescues Thursday night after cars were submerged due to flooded roads in Mira Mesa and La Jolla.

A second rescue was underway in Mira Mesa when two cars were stuck at the intersection of Carroll Canyon Road and Pacific Heights Boulevard, approximately 9 p.m. According to the San Diego Police Department, officers kept an eye on two people, with one person occupying each car.

The two people were rescued and their cars were checked by swift rescue teams, authorities confirmed. As of 10 p.m., Carroll Canyon Road was shut down in both directions…
