San Diego County Offices to Close in Observance of Cesar Chavez Day

Public offices will be closed on March 31 in honor of Cesar Chavez Day. According to the County of San Diego, family resource centers, library branches, and animal shelters will not operate on the holiday. However, critical services, such as law enforcement and emergency animal control response, will still be running.

While the administrative functions pause, activity enthusiasts can still visit county parks, campgrounds, and day-use parks—those are open all year round. However, a few specific spots, including Fallbrook Community Center, Lakeside, and Spring Valley Community Centers, among others, will be shutting their doors for the day. The Department of Parks and Recreation’s phone line won’t be available, but if you’re looking to secure a camping spot, the County’s Online Camping Reservations web page is still up and running for your convenience.

It might also be worth keeping in mind that all County public health clinics will enjoy a brief hiatus on March 31. So, if you’ve got non-emergency health matters to tend to on Monday, it’s better to plan ahead or wait until after the holiday…
