Suspected killer, wife of Cal Fire captain Rebecca Marodi captured after intense manhunt

SAN DIEGO — Yolanda Marodi, the woman suspected of killing beloved Cal Fire captain Rebecca Marodi, has been captured by Fuerza Estatal de Seguridad Ciudadana officers in Mexico, it was announced Saturday. She was detained near a hotel in the Ferrocarril neighborhood of Mexicali after a nearly five-week long binational manhunt.

The two had been married for more than two years.

Rebecca Marodi was killed the night of Feb. 17 and found by first responders in their home on the 20000 block of Rancho Villa Road. She suffered multiple stab wounds.
