SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Allen Dinoyo, a 48-year-old homeless man, was sentenced to 13 years and 4 months in prison for starting nine arson fires across San Diego County in November. The sentencing took place today in El Cajon court, where Dinoyo faced multiple felony arson charges.
The fires occurred in various locations including Jamul, Rancho San Diego, Dehesa, La Mesa, and San Diego. The most severe incident, known as the Millar Fire, burned 11 acres in Rancho San Diego and forced evacuations, although no structures were damaged.
Cal Fire determined the fires to be the result of arson and arrested Dinoyo over Thanksgiving weekend last year. Mike Cornette, Cal Fire PIO, commented on the investigation process, stating, “Fires in general take a lot of resources and time, and arson investigations take a lot of time and resources to make sure that we’re getting an accurate and detailed cause of the fire.”…
