ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Matt Weathersby, a 70-year-old retired San Diego police officer, is making waves in Escondido with his unique business venture, the Jelly Bear Jelly Company. Weathersby, who calls himself a “master jellyologist,” opened the store five years ago and believes it might be the only all jam and jelly store in America.
“Smuckers, Welches, watch out,” Weathersby joked, showcasing his passion for preserves.
