La Jolla, California – Burglars rammed a vehicle into a high-end eyeglasses retailer early Tuesday morning, causing extensive damage and killing several fish in a large saltwater aquarium on display.
San Diego Police responded to EyeStructure at 1232 Prospect Street around 4 a.m. after reports of broken glass . Officers arrived to find the front of the store severely damaged, with windows and display cases shattered by the impact of the suspect vehicle. In addition to the structural damage, the burglars destroyed a large saltwater aquarium inside the store, killing all the of the fish inside, including a large lionfish.
According to the police and the store owner, the damages to the store were estimated to be at least $100,000. However, it remains unclear how much merchandise, if any, was stolen during the break-in…
