SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Michelin-recommended Italian eatery, Cesarina, was hit by an armed robbery attempt Saturday, the restaurant shared in a post on Instagram.
The trattoria-style restaurant said the suspect entered through its front door around 10:30 p.m., as they were in the process of closing. They then demanded money before fleeing down the street, where they were later taken into custody by San Diego police officers.
Video of the incident uploaded to the crowd-sourced neighborhood safety app, Citizen, appeared to show a number of patrons running from the entry, seemingly responding to the suspect brandishing a weapon. However, the restaurant said no one was injured in the incident.
