CHP deploys stealth patrol cars with concealed lights

SAN DIEGO — The California Highway Patrol is introducing a fleet of 400 new Dodge Durangos equipped with concealed police lights, designed to blend in with traffic and catch reckless drivers.

CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee says the new vehicles will help officers “identify and apprehend those most egregious violators that are putting all of us at risk.”

The new patrol cars will feature subdued CHP logos and completely concealed lights. Some will be painted black, others white, while about 200 statewide will have the traditional black and white paint scheme…
